- Accountancy Group provides authorized representative services to those companies which are not physically present at Dallas and needs someone to authorize the I-9 verification
- By law, your employee while filling out the I-9 Form must meet hiring company or authorized representative with the valid original documents. Here are some facts by ucis.gov regarding I-9 verification (Last Reviewed/Updated: 03/27/2014-click here for original publication):
- The Department of Homeland Security does not require the authorized representative to have specific agreements or other documentation for Form I-9 purposes. If an authorized representative fills out Form I-9 on your behalf, you are still liable for any violations in connection with the form or the verification process.
- When completing Form I-9, we as your authorized representative must physically examine each document presented to determine if it reasonably appears to be genuine and relates to the employee presenting it. Reviewing or examining documents via webcam is not permissible. Your employee must schedule a visit to meet us physically with original documents.
- We have right to deny representing you for I-9 if your employee for any reason discriminates, abuse or threaten the Accountancy Group Staffs. If your employee expresses intention to harm or kill. Intention to take hostile action by your employee will cause denial of representation for that employee.
- We, the notary public acting as an authorized representative of you, will not act as a notary for I-9 Forms. When acting as an authorized representative for I-9, the notary public should not provide a notary seal on Form I-9.
- For all other documents, other than I-9 and related documents, we are allowed to present a notary seal.
- As I-9 Authorized Representative , “Section 2. Employer or Authorized Representative Review and Verification” will be completed and signed. Section 2 must be completed within 3 business days of the employee’s first day of employment.
- For Section 2, we must physically examine one document from List A OR examine a combination of one document from List B and one document from List C as listed on the “Lists of Acceptable Documents” on the next page of the I-9 form.
- For each document we review, record the following information: document title, issuing authority, document number, and expiration date, if any.)
